University of Colorado Athletic Improvements
The University of Colorado selected J3 Engineering Consultants, Inc. as the civil engineer to perform the design build contract for the expansion and enhancement of the University’s athletic complex at Folsom Field and the Dal Ward building. This project vaulted the University’s facilities into the Twenty-first Century and provided the needed improvements to remain in the forefront of the PAC-12 by providing an indoor practice facility with underground parking, a new football operations building, Olympic sports and high-performance sport center, additional stadium seating sections, and tailgating and retail areas. The required engineering services included the planning, design, processing and implementation of the site grading, drainage, utilities, and transportation improvements. The services were provided while enhancing the fan, staff, player, and recruit experience, through Low Impact Development techniques and a boots on the ground approach to tailor that experience to meet the University’s goals and vision.
