The following is an excerpt from the City of Centennial Local Matters Newspaper: “As early as next summer, more than 80 acres of once privately owned open space along Cherry Creek in the city of Centennial — some of it homesteaded in 1864 — will open for the first time to hikers, runners, cyclists and other outdoors enthusiasts. Parker Jordan Metropolitan District has purchased the land for $2.18 million. The district is a quasi-municipal corporation that provides park and recreation facilities, drainage and other services to property owners within the district. The project design for Parker Jordan Open Space is being led by J3 Engineering.”
